SEAMscan XTS III - X-ray Double Seam Inspection

SEAMscan XTS III is a non-destructive double seam inspection system. Whether your product is aluminum or steel can, the SEAMscan XTS will reduce your measurement time, reduce spoilage and save money. The system is a semi-automatic measurement system, utilizing X-ray technology which can measure Seam Height, Body Hook, Cover Hook, Overlap, Seam Gap, % Body Hook Butting and also Wrinkle Rating (% Tightness). No teardown required and cans could be sent back to production.

AUTO-XTS - Automatic X-ray Double Seam Inspection

​The AUTO-XTS is a fully automated, non-destructive double seam inspection system designed for beverage and metal packaging. It accurately measures seam thickness, countersink depth, seam height, body hook, cover hook, overlap, seam gap, % body hook butting, and wrinkle detection (% tightness). Utilizing a unique radial measurement system and X-ray technology, it enhances testing precision while reducing labor and spoilage, thereby saving time and costs. The system can operate both online and as a standalone unit, featuring an automated robot handling system that safely and efficiently moves cans through various measurement stations. Data is collected via the Visionary QC™ Pro SPC software, providing real-time, easy-to-understand analysis.

SEAMscan Double Seam Inspection SPC System

The SEAMscan SPC System is a cost-effective, high-resolution tool for double seam inspection and measurement with SPC Reporting. It includes a Video Seam Imager (VSI) tailored for various can types—food, beverage, aerosol, general line, or oil filters—that clearly illuminates and captures seam images. The system is rugged and reliable, featuring an integrated multiplexer for connecting up to six additional gauges. It features SEAMview™ software for fast data processing and Visionary QC™ SPC software for statistical analysis, enabling quick, detailed inspection reports. Accessories like seam thickness gauges and seam saws provide complete seam measurement solutions, enhancing reliability and efficiency.

Beverage Seam Saw AGS-2300

Beverage Seam Saw AGS-2300 is designed for precise cutting of beverage cans to inspect double seam. It works seamlessly with CMC Kuhnke’s SEAMscan and Quality by Vision’s SEAMetal Double Seam Inspection systems. Built for efficiency and safety, the saw features a low-maintenance design, a containment system to trap seam shavings, and noise reduction technology, ensuring a clean and quiet operation.

Pop & Tear Tester

Pop and Tear Tester is a high accuracy, programmable and automatic gauge for measuring the force needed to pop and tear an easy open food or beverage end or peel off end. The device is suitable for various end types, including large round, rectangular, oval, and HANSA ends.

End Measurement Gauge

End Measurement Gauge EMS-3200 is a semi-automated gauge which suitable for multiple end diameters. Its measurements include Curl Diameter, Curl Height, Countersink Height, Curl Opening, Curl Width, Curl Length, Inside Curl Diameter, Chuck Fit and the option of First Bead Height.

Axial Load Tester

Axial Load Tester measures the strength of your metal can by measuring the force in vertical axis before the can deforms. The units of measurement are pounds (lbs), kilograms (Kg) or Newton (N). CMC Kuhnke has models suitable for food cans (AXL-3100), beverage cans and monobloc (AXL-3050).

Panel Implosion Tester

The Panel Implosion Tester (PNL-3153) is a semi-automated device designed to accurately measure the implosion strength of two-piece and three-piece cans, as well as PET bottles. Its automated testing process enhances accuracy by eliminating operator error, and the quick-fill feature rapidly increases pressure to a set amount before reducing the fill rate to maximize precision. The system accommodates various can heights and diameters without the need for changing parts.

Digital Enamel Rater

Digital Enamel Rater (ENR-4000) is designed to measure the integrity of interior lacquer coatings on metal packaging, including cans, ends, aerosol containers, and bottle caps. It assesses lacquer permeability by measuring current flow in milliamps (mA), ensuring precise quality control. The system features adjustable voltage, test duration, and polarity settings, along with dual test channels for flexible testing. Its versatility makes it suitable for various packaging types (beverage, food or general), while optional calibration accessories enhance accuracy and reliability.

Body Blank Gauge

Body Blank Gauge is a high accuracy, high repeatability gauge for measuring Body Blank length, width and angle (squareness). The gauge utilizes Heidenhain counter electronics combine with linear slides and another Heidenhain sensor for accurately angle measurement. It ensures consistent measuring force for repeatable and user-independent results.

Aerosol Can Burst Tester

The Aerosol Can Burst Tester (ABT-3100) is a semi-automated device designed to evaluate the pressure thresholds at which aerosol cans buckle and burst. Operating at a test pressure of up to 50 bar, it can be programmed with up to 60 customized test types, including holding at set pressures. The system accommodates various can sizes and materials, including PET, monobloc, and aluminum bottles, without requiring part changes. Its quick-fill feature rapidly increases pressure to a set amount before reducing the fill rate to maximize precision. Automatic detection identifies the exact points where the top or bottom dome buckles, ensuring accurate and efficient testing.

Seam Stripper 1000

The Seam Stripper 1000 is a fast and safe solution for double seam teardown for the analysis of double seam tightness on food, aerosol, and beverage cans. It accurately separates the cover hook from the body hook in one operation without damage, reducing manual effort and improving inspection efficiency. This automated process enhances safety and allows for more frequent, reliable seam analysis.
